Bento sized yoghurts....

Oh wise Mumsnet, please can you save me a small fortune and pass on your lunchbox yoghurt recommendations....We have recently moved to packed lunches at school. I got them Bento style lunch boxes which are great but so far (despite buying a few different varieties per week, none fit!). I know you can get plastic pots but I find the big yoghurts go off once opened (and they like different flavours and ds is fussy about 'bits' in his yoghurt) Hmm. Any shared wisdom would be greatly appreciated.....

I don't find bio yogurts go off...are you taking a while to finish the pot up? I'd buy individual packs and then use half a little pot in a smaller plastic pot for the lunchbox.
You can use the other half the next day.

I want to try and avoid transferring yoghurts into plastic pots in the morning if I can. Petit filous fit but so far I haven't found any actual yoghurts. Even ones that look small on the shelf don't fit. If anyone has a Bento lunch box and fits multipack yoghurts in can you let me know which brand they are?

I have managed to fit yoghurts in by cutting off the plastic corners of the top. The top where the 4 in a multipack is usually much wider than the actual pot. Does that make sense? But maybe that still doesn't make your pots small enough

Thank you @Rae36 I hadn't thought of doing that. I will give it a try. This whole school lunch thing is unchartered territory!

You can't leave me hanging like that, did it work??

We buy the squeezy ones. No spoon needed, no dropping down tops and fit in lunch boxes no issues. £1 for 4 in Morrison’s

@Rae36 I haven't tried it yet but will report back after filling the lunch boxes for school!

I struggled with yoghurts. I managed to ram some rice puds in but think I will have to order a seperate lidded pot to spoon yoghurt into. Never mind. It was worth a shot!

What about those yoghurt that come in squeezy tubes? Would one of those fit if you curled it up? A single big pot decanted into a reusable smaller pot would be better from a plastic waste POV though if you can bear it.

Is it that you are looking for petite filous sized but actual yoghurts? Sorry I don't know how big a bento box is but if that's it then have a look at Little Yeo's - in the same section as fromage frais but they are proper yoghurt...

Lidl's Greek style yoghurt comes in a flatter wider pot than a normal yoghurt pot. They do plain or strawberry, and I think honey flavours?

Glenisk Organic Baby Yoghurts. They're a bit expensive but are perfect size for my kids bento style box. She's only 3 though so unaware it says "baby" on top....older kids may not be as happy about it I suppose.

DD has the sistema bento and these fit perfectly. Though they are probably no good if he doesn’t like bits Sad

A bento box with sections? Like a Yum box? You can pour yoghurt into a section :)
