My kids love soup, most ones go down well, except they all moan when I give them veg soup because of the chunky bits of veg.

Is there a smoother one I can buy ??

I know I could blend it up myself, but tbh I can't be bothered.

Oh and I have made veg soup myself before, which was lovely and smooth and went down very well, it just seemed like a huge amount of work for not much soup.

cream of tomato

have to say I do think if you find making soup a huge amount of work you may be doing it wrong? .. chuck veg in stock, herbs of choice, simmer for 45 mins to an hour, and blend

Oh yes, they love that, but i mean like a vegetable soup with all different veg in, but smooth.

Oh no, it wasn't that it was alot of work, more that I didn't get a very large amount of soup for all the stuff I used iykwim.

Don't think i am explaining myself very well today lol.

have you tried putting more stock in?

I haven't no, but I will give it another bash, as they did all like it, which is miraculous as I cooked it

Seeds of Change do a lovely range of vegetable soups, but TBH I find making my own soup more economical and more satisfying.

Make a big batch and split it into smaller portions for the freezer. Home made tastes so much nicer than shop bought.
BBC Good Food has excellent minestrone recipe this month. my boys loved it as it was but I'm sure it would blend really nicely.

Nutcracker, you could try this idea. It's hard to get decent veg here in Nigeria so plan to try out a tip a friend gave me for soup. She cooks up some onions then tips in a bag of frozen vegetables, adds some stock, simmers it for a sort while and voila, veg soup! You can add lentils, serve it chunky, liquidise it, whatever you fancy.

Or you could always puree the tinned stuff, I guess!!

Yep, deffo worth making alot and freezing. Also it's good as blending it mens you can sneak lots of more unusual/disliked veg in to it like lentils and leafy greens. Mwahahahahaha.... [evil face]

That sounds good Suedonim, will definatly try that.
