Frozen fish has defrosted - refreeze?

Two packs of frozen fillets have defrosted by accident (I'm an idiot, forgot to unpack a shopping bag). The bag says not to refreeze after defrosting but a quick google shows some articles saying its ok to refreeze defrosted fish. But presumably the instruction not to refreeze is for a reason? Has anyone done this and lived to tell the tale?

I’d cook it then freeze it. You could use it on fish pies or with a sauce.

So would I. Or eat it tomorrow.

Thanks. Sorry, dumb question but if I cook it and refreeze is it just a matter of letting cool then wrapping in foil or freezer bags to refreeze?

Yes just wrap it well and then use in the next few weeks.
