Just found out that dd's college course is going to be blended learning and we only have a very old laptop. She would like a Chromebook due to size/weight but I know nothing about these at all. I know that she will need to access PowerPoint and word. Can anyone advise if this can be done on a Chromebook and any advice on a budget friendly Chromebook or small laptop? I would usually research for ages before buying anything but this has to be a speedy purchase so realk any advice at all welcome!

Heck with the college as to what platforms they'll be using. Chrome books are fine if they're a google school but if not I'd go for a laptop.

Thanks, I'll look in to that.

Yes, you can use word /ppt on Chromebooks! Youd just download the relevant apps, as with a smartphone.

The very old Chromebooks possibly aren't compatible, so I'd do a quick google of the intended model just to double check that you can.
