Specifically fried chicken and doughnuts are what I’d like to make but I hate the way the smell gets into everything.

I have a fryer which I use in the garden as I can't stand the smell in house.

My OH is the best cook in this house. He made fried chicken a while back. Despite the fact all his foods delicious and typically better than you get out....even he said it really wasn't worth it for fried chicken. He goes to see the Colonel if he wants some. (We don't have a deep fat fryer as we don't regularly deep fry...)

It's easy enough, and tasty. I've make Krispy Kreme style doughnuts, churros, festivals, onion rings, fried chicken, chicken fried steak, funnel cake etc

I don't have a fryer. I just use saucepans and never fill it above 1/3.
