can i have some?

nappyaddict · 05/10/2007 14:13

how much did you use for the cake and the icing?

is it meant to taste very lemony?? i've just pinched some of the mixture and i can't really taste any lemon at all.

Usually you put lemon zest in the mixture to make it lemony, but I expect you know that.

If you pricked the hot, cooked cake and poured a juice/sugar mix over it, it should taste a lot more lemony than the mixture would have.

Hope it was nice anyway!

Well I wouldn't normally, but if it's an emergency I guess it would work okay. It just won't be quite as good.

castille did you use jif in the mixture or just for the icing sugar and juice part?

LOL - when I see Jif it makes me think of the cream cleaner - don't use that.

castille · 08/10/2007 21:00

Sorry, just seen this!

I only put the zest in the mixture, and save the juice for the topping.

nappyaddict · 09/10/2007 08:12

how much jif did you use for the topping?

I used the equivalent volume of the juice of one lemon, but it's not an exact science - as long as you've got enough sugar/juice mix to pour over the whole surface of your cake it's fine.

do you have oranges? Its nice with oranges

oh, friday, ok, but it IS

nappyaddict · 09/10/2007 09:02

i was thinkin about 6 tablespoons or would that be too much.

I wouldn't make it with a jif lemon as the grated rind goes in the mix and is gorgeous

DO try the oranges
