Indian Curry - help!

Hello!

My partner absolutely loves Indian cuisine/restaurants but I’m not a fan at all of any of the wet sauce based curry’s I’ve tried (khorma, Masala, Madras, dopiaza etc). The problem for me is they are so rich!

Can anyone recommend a main that I would enjoy that’s dry or not necessarily a sauce based curry? I don’t want to keep depriving my partner from enjoyable a curry!

Thanks in advance!

Could you go for the sides, like pakora, bhaji, rice?

Shashlik is your friend. Lovely juicy spicy chunks of chicken/meat/paneer/ vegetables. Add cucumber raita and a couple of chapatis and job done. I LOVE shashlik.

Why don’t you get it without the sauce? :-) just the meat and maybe some Bombay potatoe on the side

Great suggestions all, thank you! I will try the shashlik next time with salad and Bombay potatoes.

I often choose tandoori chicken when I want a dry dish. Chicken tikka, or anything from the tandoor, would work.
