Does anyone have a tried and tested cherry cake recipe they would recommend?

Nigella’s cherry almond loaf from Domestic Goddess is lovely.

250g butter
250g caster sugar. Cream together.
Add 3 large or 4 medium eggs.
Fold in 250g SR flour and 50g ground almonds.
Put about 1/4 in a layer in the bottom of the tin.
Fold a tub of halved glace cherries into the remaining mix and add to the tin.
150C for about an hour (go check it when the whole house smells of cake!)

If you are feeling fancy, add half the cherry cake mixture to the tin, add a disk of marzipan about 1cm smaller in diameter than the tin, then add the rest of the cake batter.

Thanks both!
