Chicken left out!!

disneyisnaff · 09/08/2020 12:29

I took chicken and sausages out yesterday to defrost. OH was meant to put in the refrigerator last night I've slept in this morning and woke up and he forgot. So the chicken has been left out all night thawing.
I'm not sure it's ok to cook. OH thinks it is ok?

Help!!

In this heat I wouldn't risk it.

FinnyStory · 10/08/2020 08:03

How warm does it feel to touch, still slightly chilled or summer room temperature?

TBH I'd still use it if it smells OK, but if it was frozen when left out, if might not be a swarm as you'd think.

SaddestDay · 10/08/2020 08:03

Nope nope nope

GennyCrabby · 10/08/2020 08:04

Is it still cold, or is it room temperature? What is the room temperature?

I wouldn't risk it unless it still felt cold or was in a cool room - both of which are unlikely in this heat. It's chicken - you don't mess with chicken!

JassyRadlett · 10/08/2020 08:13

Not the chicken in summer. Even if it’s still mostly cold you only need one room temp bad patch.

disneyisnaff · 10/08/2020 08:30

Well we ate it and no problems. It didn't feel cool though but oh insisted it would be fine

disneyisnaff · 10/08/2020 16:55

Well we ate it for tea yesterday and we were all ok! I barely ate any though 😂

I wouldn't count yourself lucky until you're 72 hours clear.

But let's hope you are. I'm very over caution with meat since a bad case of E.Coli years back. X
