Can I refreeze defrosted soup?

Made some homemade veggie soup a couple of weeks ago and froze it. A few questions - it’s a big Tupperware-full:

  1. how many days can it be eaten over?
  2. could I heat it right through and then refreeze some of it?
  3. if I were to serve it as a cold soup, do I just heat it through and then chill it in the fridge?

Thank you in advance.

If it has been prepared and stored safely you shouldn't have to reheat it to cool it, if you want to serve it cold just let it defrost in the fridge. I'd say normal advice would be to eat within 3 days and it's never recommended to defrost and refreeze. Everyone has their own level of risk they're happy to accept though. Next time I'd freeze it in small pots or bags so you don't have so much to get through at once :)

Thanks @TrashKitten10...and you’re absolutely right re. freezing in smaller containers! 😬👍🏼
