Does anyone have any quick, foolproof and cost-effective recipies they can share please? Need to produce maybe half a dozen things and am thinking along the lines of carrot/banana cakes, Nigella's storecupboard choc cake, some traybakes but could do with some inspiration.

Thanks!

Actually, same goes for Suzywong's brownies - they use a 7" tin too. What should I do there - no room for mistakes in that recipe!!

First time I did them I didn't have a 7" square tin either. Kept to the recipe and put them in a normal baking tray and only covered half of it. They were ok, but hard to judge really. Tbh the best thing is to go out and invest in the right size tin which is what I did and that's when they've turned out unbeatable!

If you can't do that, I'd definately use less of the tin! HTH Am off to bake some biscuits!

Thanks Aero - am off to do them right this minute.

Oh, there's plenty of scope for mistakes with brownies because you get to eat the "disasters".

Aero - absolutely gorgeous!!!! Made my second batch today (time and a halfed the recipe to fit the 9" sq tin and they came out fab) ... so thanks to you and Cadbury for that!! BTW, have you ever tried freezing them? Do you think they'd freeze well?
