10" Victoria Sponge recipe?

Does anyone have a great Victoria Sponge recipe that fits a 10" tin? I ordered a tin from Amazon to bake for DP's birthday and didn't quite realise how big 10 inches is! All the recipes I've looked at are for smaller cakes and I don't want to risk trying to guess how much more of each ingredient to use.

Do you actually need 10"? The reason I ask is that you need to get the heat in to the middle of the cake mix quickly to get, and keep, a good rise....and the middle of a 10" cake is 25% further away from the edge of the tin than an 8". An alternative would be to do Madeira which is more solid but keeps better.

Ahhh I hadn’t thought of that. DP is pretty insistent that Victoria Sponge is the only cake he likes so perhaps I’m better off just buying a smaller tin. I was planning to do 3 tiers so a smaller cake would probably be more stable as well
