How to store homemade banana bread?

How long will banana bread last on the counter top (in a Tupperware container)? Or should I store it in the fridge (and how long will it last there)?

It will last a few days at room temperature. Fridge can make it go stale faster

JaJaDingDong · 21/07/2020 20:19

It will get eaten before you can't eat it IYSWIM

Thank you, @dementedpixie and @JaJaDingDong. So about three days? 🤞🏼

You can also freeze it.

I always keep it in the fridge, as find any banana pieces exposed go green and furry after about 2 days on the counter top.

If there was any left after that I'd check to see if it was stale. If not I'd eat it. Also nice with butter on

I've never had banana pieces in a loaf. Maybe thats because I use really ripe bananas so they turn to mush

I tend to slice it then freeze all but the sices that will be eaten that day. They defrost really quickly and I like knowing there is emergency cake available in the freezer for visitors..

I agree about no banana pieces. I mash the bananas really well - no pieces in the cake.

I don't understand this concept of cake lasting. I have a teenage son.

🤣 dementedma I have an 11 year old so I'm gearing up for this.
