I only know how to do a tomatoey one with olives and capers. The request is for a creamy one with sweetcorn and mushrooms.

White sauce? Cream? Mascarpone? Cream cheese?

I'd use garlic and herb cream cheese

White sauce this one is fab except I never use macaroni as it just seems wrong! Shells all the way!

TeaAndHobnob · 16/07/2020 18:53

Cream of mushroom soup.

Tuna pasta bake is not gourmet food!

Precook mushrooms do we think? Can’t imagine mushrooms and corn together.

Why is the Colman’s sachet one so good...?!

GracieLane · 17/07/2020 10:50

White sauce with sharp cheddar, add some herbs, peas, sweet corn, green pepper, maybe some finely chopped broccoli, plus the tuna. Cheese on top baked in the oven. Works great with salmon, chicken or ham too

I make it with a cheese sauce in the same way as you make macaroni. Just stir the tuna and sweet corn through before it goes in the oven. I have never added mushrooms but, if I was going to, I think I would fry them a bit first and then add them with the tuna and sweet corn when it is going into the oven.

I slightly soften the (fine diced) mushrooms and sweet red pepper in a frying pan before adding to the pile of ingredients in a big baking dish 👌 The sweetcorn goes in straight from the tin.

White sauce all the way! with mature cheddar melted in 👍
