Squash makes a decent soup even without a recipe - roast, then scrape flesh out and puree, adding some veg or chicken stock.

I'm sure someone will have some good advice on jazzing it up, though.

chop up pumpkin into big bits (leave skin on) , put in roasting tin and slosh on olive oil - stick in oven and cook for approx 1 hr. Meanwhile gently cook a chopped oninon and 2 cloves of garlic in some chickem stock in a deepish frying pan. when pumpkin ready scrape flesh off skin and put in food processor with onions/garlic, and a tablespoon of green thai curry paste ( level) , a few spots soy sauce and a pinch of brown sugar and few drops of fish sauce and belnd to a puree, then add a carton or tin of coconut cream and enough chicken stock to make up to soup like consistancy ( depends wether you like runny soup or stick to your ribs type). called " thai pumpkin soup" - flipping lovely.
