Exploding egg - learned a lesson!

Did a boiled egg for DD's dinner but when I peeled it there was a bit of runny white. I thought I'd pop it in the microwave for ten seconds to firm it up. Seemed to work so I took a knife to cut it in half and it exploded! Have a small burn on my hand but otherwise ok - could have been worse, but wanted to share so other people know - don't microwave a peeled boiled egg!!!!

Lucky you weren’t more badly hurt. I have exploded an egg through over boiling (ie completely forgetting it and it boiled dry). Not easy cleaning up that mess.

No, fortunately DH has volunteered to clean it up! Stuck hand in a bowl of cold water for 15 minutes but definitely have a couple of blisters coming up. Ow!

Oh, and hold your burn under cold running water for at least ten minutes next time. Hope you feel better soon x

I had a microwave poached egg explode in my face and eye when I checked to see if it was cooked. I'm now very careful.
