Beef brisket. Can I be oven roasted?

I got a joint of beef yesterday and didn't realize it was beef brisket. The recipes all say to slow cook it but can I just roast it in the oven instead?

I don't have a slow cooker or 3-4 hours to cook it.

I think it might end up very very tough. Slow cooking works with brisket as it melts the fat through the meat

Oh dear - no, it would be tough. If you haven’t got the time, freeze it until you have and cook something else.Easily said🙄. I love pot roasted brisket btw

Thank you. So can I just cook it In a casserole dish?

It's wonderful roasted in the oven; but very slowly. You'll need at least 5 hours. My favourite roast and very tender.

If you have a slow cooker then this would work.
