I only have a little bit of oil left, can I use olive oil or should I go and quickly buy some sunflower/veg oil?

Yes

Olive oil is just as good as veg/sunflower, what would be the better lard or beef dripping but olive oil is a good as any other oil.

OK thank you, I never have lard in and so normally use oil so if its just the same then thqt's fine. Thanks for taking time to answer.

You can, but it will take longer to reach optimum temperature, so you'll have to whack the oven up a bit.

as long as you wait till the oil is smoking hot (literally smoking) then they will be fine
