I want a snack that I can send to school with dc (who is permanently hungry) needs to be high protein, no dairy, no nuts, no need to refrigerate! Does it exist?

Biltong??

SuperSange · 25/06/2020 21:25

Those baked pea snacks that are in the crisp aisle?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 25/06/2020 21:25

www.belvitabreakfast.com/soft-baked

DD likes these for snacks, the mixed /red berries ones.

I suppose they're not 100% guarantee nut free though?

Peperami or little snack sized salami or chorizos.
Hard boiled eggs are fine out of the fridge for a couple of hours.

AriettyHomily · 25/06/2020 21:34

Pepperami
Mini chorizo snack pack
Jerky

EasynowPatrick · 25/06/2020 21:43

Pepperami! Why couldn’t I think of that? I thought boiled egg but, but potential to be a bit messy.

Egg muffins - beaten egg poured into greased muffin tins with chopped veg or bacon, various incarnations.

Cold Quorn dippers

Those fridge raider chicken packs

Roasted chickpeas

Hard boiled, while delightful to eat, have a reputation for being a bit smelly!

yetanothernamechange22 · 26/06/2020 03:35

Fish and cold meats could last a few hours with a cool pack. Would she eat one of those John West tuna salads in a foil dish? They don't need refrigeration.

Ricekrispie22 · 26/06/2020 05:13

Sesame snaps are slightly higher protein that peperami groceries.asda.com/product/mediterranean/sesame-snaps-original/3337684

My DC also like Munchy Seeds www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/munchy-seeds-honey-seeds-25g

Alpro shakes are high protein too www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/alpro--/alpro-long-life-soya-milk-alternative--chocolate-3x250ml

Layoverlife · 26/06/2020 05:24

@Ricekrispie22 Thank you for the Munchy seeds suggestion those look great and on my shopping list, just what I needed for work Smile

Home made flapjacks - you can put loads of seeds in to add protein.

I can't believe how many people suggested hard boiled eggs. They'd stink the classroom out.

Roasted chickpeas?

minipie · 29/06/2020 18:39

Egg breakfast muffins, can also add veg and cheese to them. They can be frozen, so you could send a frozen one in and it would defrost during the day, keeps it fresh.
