I am the only person in the world who doesn’t love blueberries?

Well I’m not, neither me or DH can taste anything.

They look as though they should taste amazing, but I taste nothing, similarly DH. Just taste vaguely sweet.

What am I missing?

That reminds me that I haven't had a frocken/fraughan for decades. Much more of a zing than blueberries, possibly because I've only had them straight off the bush. I wonder if they would grow in my garden.

couldthisbeit · 20/06/2020 19:32

I only like them warmed, totally changes them imo

june2007 · 20/06/2020 19:36

Eat them but really overated. Put in a fruit salad or a muffin, not keen on own.

Jobseeker19 · 20/06/2020 19:37

I can only eat them frozen otherwise they are mushy to me. Frozen blueberries taste really good.

iMatter · 20/06/2020 19:54

Tasteless and bitty

No juiciness at all

Ack

No thanks

Deathraystare · 21/06/2020 15:39

I don't mind them but like them with something lemony - such as lemon tart etc.

Now B;lackberries I do not like - I prefer fruit with a bit of 'bite' I find them too sweet.

TheCatsWhisker · 21/06/2020 15:45

Hateful things, sometimes I give them another chance but they always disappoint.

No matter how much I was them they always have little bits on them, yuck 🤢

Nickname21 · 21/06/2020 15:47

Horrible things.

HelpMeh · 21/06/2020 15:54

Nope. Dry, fluffy and bland. Horrible fruits. They can get lost and take avocados with them too. Why do people like avocado? High-calorie, tasteless bleugh.

GracieLane · 21/06/2020 15:56

My DCs love them, although they will eat play-dough too.

I much prefer blackberries, raspberries, red currants and black currants as they all are quite sharp. Blackberries less so but I like foraging for those. I love strawberries in season and bought local. Once they have travelled they seem to become mushy balls of red nothing.

Blueberries I just can't get excited about. Blueberry muffins are alright, but when I make muffins I prefer raspberries and whites chocolate chunks

MargotLovedTom1 · 21/06/2020 16:03

Cherries are where it's at! Plump, dark, glossy, juicy cherries Grin.

Love the taste of raspberries but the seeds piss me off.

MargotLovedTom1 · 21/06/2020 16:05

I do find blueberries very cute, with their little flower 'stamp'.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 21/06/2020 16:07

I don’t like them raw in a fruit salad type thing - dh adds them to strawberries and raspberries and cream, and I don’t like the taste or texture. But they are better in something cooked like a muffin, and I love them frozen and whizzed up with bananas and milk for a smoothie, but that could be more for the way they chill the smoothie than for the taste.

MrsAJ27 · 21/06/2020 16:11

Blueberries are gross

GracieLane · 21/06/2020 16:13

@MargotLovedTom1

Stone fruits are the best. I absolutely love cherries. Also partial to a nice ripe peach, nectarine of apricot.

HelpMeh · 21/06/2020 16:19

I loved cherries until I had a contaminated bunch. I won't say more but I can't move past it... I can't eat aubergine for the same reason.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/06/2020 16:41

Hate the texture.

Carrotcakeforbreakfast · 21/06/2020 17:33

It is the grittiness that puts me off.
And the ones I have had ( and I have persevered) have always been too tart for my liking.

jamandtonic · 21/06/2020 17:37

At long last I have found my fellow blueberry haters.
