Can I mix cookie dough in a bread machine?

I usually mix cookie dough by hand but I've hurt my shoulder.

Will a bread maker do the job or will I end up with tough cookies?

Personally I wouldn't ….

You can try but you'll probably be disappointed. The bread machine won't mix the butter and sugar to the right consistency, and depending on the length of the cycle it might overwork the flour and you'd end up with rock hard biscuits rather than something delicious.

What kind of cookie? I make chocolate chip cookies with melted butter and they really not need much mixing at all (I also have a dodgy shoulder!)

I didn't think it would work but no harm in being hopeful!
I usually make chocolate cookies but the mixing really is a problem at the moment as I can't lift my arm or turn my head.
