Cannot find any yeast (Allinsons)from any main supermarket, but have seen it on Amazon and Ebay for £5.99 upwards for the small containers, which usually cost around £1. No sign of the packets.
Any idea where I can get some please, I am running really low.

Morrisons have been selling fresh yeast in plastic bags in the chiller for 20p. There's always plenty of it.

I can see several types available on the asda website.

My local Aldi had it last week but didn’t have it this week. It’s coming into supermarkets, the same as flour but it’s being in the right place at the right time.

Asda had fresh yeast today and loads of flour

But where is the yeast?

I understand panic buying at the beginning of lockdown, but surely the novelty of baking bread has worn off now, so why is there still none in the shops? Confused

Try your local farm shop

I bought fresh yeast and froze it and it is fine if I take it out and let it defrost before using it

I bought 500g of Fermipan yeast for £10 from Amazon a couple of weeks ago (arrived next day) . Works out cheaper than standard supermart sachets. Great yeast too. I've been using 7g per 500G flour so have enough for 70 loaves, so about 14p per loaf

Thanks for the replies. None in our local farm shops, none in any of our local supermarkets. We cannot get any online shops and have no relatives who can do it for us. I go out shopping as infrequently as possible, because I am theoretically an at risk person. We have a local co-op, but even if I go in at 7.00 in the morning after they have restocked, there isn't any yeast or flour.
I tried looking for the Fermipan on Amazon, and it is saying they do not deliver to my area in the UK.

I got the FermiPan yeast from Windsor Cake Crafts. I think it was £8.99 plus delivery (but I got a 16kg sack fo flour too)
