Where to buy fregola

Hi, I'm missing my favourite salad at a local Italian restaurant, its a grilled goats cheese salad with fregola and walnuts. Where can I buy fregola? No main supermarkets seem to stock it? Would giant cous cous be a similar alternative?

Sounds delicious! I got some from my local greengrocers who also sell random grains and things. An Italian deli might also have it? I think giant couscous would be totally fine as an alternative though.

I've got some I brought back from Sardinia, £50 per tablespoon for a fellow MNer ?

Seriously, I'd try the giant cous cous. Or maybe a small pasta like orzo would be more in keeping.

On Amazon several of the packages shown state “ fregola or giant cous-cous” so you should be fine using giant cous-cous, and it’s easy to find in most supermarkets.

I'd pay £50 just to have that salad now!! Thank you, I'll try the giant cous cous

I got mine in (Italian) Lidl. Might be worth a visit. DH loves it but it’s rather hit-and-miss in my experience. The long cooking time (15 mins?) makes it easy to overcook and then it has to cool down to make your salad...
