Surplus lime pickle

I bought some lime pickle yesterday to use on top of a soup (leftover carrots roasted with soy sauce, ginger and garlic blended with coconut milk and butter beans in case anyone's interested!) but I now have 3/4 of a jar of lime pickle left and nothing to use it with!

I've never used lime pickle before yesterday - does anyone have any recipes where it would work please? Thank you!

I love it in a cold meat (especially leftover roast lamb) or sausage sandwich! Also just eat with poppadoms or on the side of a curry, or add to the sauce for coronation chicken for a bit of tang,

Lime pickle tastes like ear wax. How can you eat the stuff??

Gotthetshirt23 · 01/05/2020 09:49

@GoFiguire you eat ear wax ? Confused

Thanks all - definitely going to try the salmon one, and will now have an excuse to get a curry on Just Eat tonight so I can dip my naan!

I read something about mixing it with peanut butter and it making a kind of satay sauce? Disclaimer - I have never made this and don't have a recipe. Just thought it sounded nice!

PawPatrolMakesMeDrink · 01/05/2020 11:23

Ooh lime pickle mixed with peanut butter is delicious on chicken or prawns.

ZaZathecat · 01/05/2020 11:26

I love it on avocado and a toasted bagel!

Send it my way pleeeease? Lime pickle might just be the thing I'm missing most this lockdown...

Alternatively, pile onto a poppadom and serve with an ice cold lager. Food of the gods Grin

Keeps for ages and ages in the fridge. We have a jar lurking in there, so must try to get it used up!

IHaveBrilloHair · 01/05/2020 15:26

It keeps for ages.
I always have a jar in and just serve it with curries.

There is no such thing as leftover lime pickle.

In a cheese toastie. So good.

I've been known to eat lime pickle sandwiches
