Hey!
I only have 1 cake pan and I've never really baked before but i was wondering if anyone knew a recipe for a red velvet cake which would yield one nine inch cake pan? I really wanted to bake with my kids...

Thanks! :D

The Betty Crocker Red Velvet mix would probably do it. It’s no more than add an egg and water, but it tastes really good!

Apparently you need gel liquid food colouring so the colour lasts. I used a regular, cheap liquid colour from asda/tescos or somewhere. In the cake mix it looked great and a vivid red. Once cooked though, it was a dull, greyish/pink colour and just looked like a sad, strange coloured cake Blush

Dd tried a paste colour and it went a weird pale orange.
I clicked on this thread hoping for a good food colouring reccomendation!
