Viennetta Neopolitan (lighthearted, kind of)

A cautionary tale...
So excited last week when DH returned from the weekly supermarket trip with a Neopolitan Viennetta! I’d heard about them but never seen one.
Into the freezer it went and we managed to hold out for 3 days before caving and deciding to have it for dessert.
Anticipation was high and I dutifully followed the instructions to wait for 10 minutes before carefully unwrapping the white plastic wrapper... only to find, to my complete disappointment a two layered ice cream block.
TWO layers!!
Vanilla and strawberry interspersed with chocolate slivers (and less then the usual amount in a plain viennetta)
I feel thoroughly disappointed.
I was swizzed into thinking (hoping) it would be three layers of lusciousness; vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream.
I am considered making an official complaint and starting a petition.

That is a travesty, at worst please write a very strong worded email, maybe tweet them ! And DEFINETELY boycotting from on now. Dirty, thieving, robbing gits !

I bought a vienetta not long ago after seeing it and having delicious memories of it after ah day lunch as a kid. It’s shit now! Tiny and WHERES the chocolate gone?! Hardly any and that was the whole point of it.

Now I’m in lockdown I’ve got plenty of free time to think about it and it’s been bugging me endlessly

Thank you @JenNtonic I thought I was overreacting a little.
I appreciate the support but not sure I can quite agree with the boycotting that would mean giving up the mint, chocolate orange and vanilla versions. I don’t think I could cope with that!

Ok we can always demand another layer. I'm thinking protest at production level !!! From 2m of course !!!

Wait - chocolate orange vienetta?

I'd be happy. I hate chocolate ice cream (am aware this makes me weird). But, you're right. That is NOT a Neapolitan. It's, at best, an angel ice cream cake.

Omg they do chocolate orange?! I would have been disappointed too, I'm glad I didn't pick the Neapolitan one up now.
I got a vanilla one and a mint on for pudding today.

I was imagining it to be vertical layers when i saw the thread title. Like in an ice cream block. Although horizontal is a better idea

Love the description of angel ice cream, far better suited

They used to do a one apple one which was amazing.
