Hi, Can I ask for your tried and tested mug microwave recipes. Working front line at the moment and would love to have a hot easy made meal when I get the chance. I have had a couple of microwave cakes that have worked well. There are loads of recipes online but some work and some don't. I would love if you could share the ones that have worked for you. Thanks

Firstly, thank you for the work you're doing!

Rice with water to cover, zap for a few minutes until nearly done, add spinach with oil/ lemon juice/ black pepper (if you have it, optional), zap 1 min, crack in an egg, zap until cooked.

If you have a big mug, a thinly sliced potato in a bit of water will cook in about 8 - 10 minutes, add a quorn sausage and veg about halfway through (I've never tried this with real sausages)

Microwave baked potatoes

Rice, carrots and red lentils, add curry powder/ garlic/ chilli flakes/ whatever, water to cover, zap until soft

An easy meal is couscous in veg / chicken stock with a few bits of grated veg, crushed nuts, raisins etc. Heat it in the microwave for a minute at a time and it’s perfectly fluffy.
