We have veg (carrots and broccoli) but no potatoes. I have flour, butter, lentils and lots of other store cupboard ingredients. What can I make for the starchy part of the meal?

I think you could use whatever you wish. Pasta, lentils, beans, etc. Maybe a bit unorthodox, but it will taste delicious all the same.

Dumplings/scones?

Have it as a stew with lots of gravy, and dip bread and butter in it.

I just face palmed. Yorkies! Although scones or dumplings would be nice too.

Butter beans or chickpeas?
