Apple recipes please!

DH has brought home about 20 surplus apples from work. We already have plenty of fresh fruit, including 6 more apples at home.

I think we’ll struggle to eat all the apples before they go off.

Can anyone suggest any recipes to use them up, other than apple sauce?
Preferably ones that freeze well.

I would cut them up and cook until just soft with a bit of sugar if needed and then freeze them. Defrost them at a future date for apple pie or crumble.

I was about to say freeze. If you dip the slices in lightly salted water first, they stay white.
You could also assemble a crumble ready to cook, then freeze

Make apple crisps
Apple cake/pie
Apple strudel
Bircher muesli

Apple achar (Indian pickle). It's best with cooking apples but you could add sharpness with lemon juice or vinegar

I made this earlier this week. Ridiculously easy and more-ish. (Apples, peeled, cored and chopped, obvs!) 40 mins in oven.

Baked apple was always popular here, and used up things like a few walnuts, the end of a jar of honey, a handful of sultanas. Good served on its own or with cream, yoghurt or ice cream.

Second the freezing option. I usually peel and dice any spare apples (or lunchbox leftovers/ones that have a token bite taken out of them from annoying children..) just chuck them in a ziplock bag and keep them in freezer until I have a full bag then just stew or pop frozen in oven tray/dish, top with crumble and easy crumble done! Also use diced frozen apple into muffins too..

@SurpriseSparDay I just made your Dorset apple cake - I think I should have to have left it to cool in the tin for longer because it's fallen apart rather! But it looks good anyway!

Ah ... Actually, mine did the same the first time. (Possibly because of the wholemeal flour I used.) I'd forgotten! The second time I used more milk and it held together a bit better.

But it tasted so delicious I forgave the structural unreliability.
