I've had to send my Ddad shopping and ended up with two large white cabbages, only used for coleslaw here so I need a few easy dishes please.

What do you make with white cabbage?

Chop and boil. Add to mash for colcannon.
Boil and add fried bacon - bacon plus greens is a match made in heaven.

Sauerkraut or lemon garlic cabbage - a great side dish. Saute a shredded cabbage with butter, 3 minced cloves of garlic, and a spoon of lazy chillies, then when its softened and buttery, squeeze a lemon over it, cook for another minute and then serve.

Colcannon! Great idea I've a full sack of spuds to use too.

I like the sound of garlic cabbage with lemon it'll go nice with river cobbler.

You could make sauerkraut. Shred a cabbage, weigh it, add 2%of the weight in salt. Rub the cabbage and salt together, let it stand a while then rub it some more until the juices run. Pack the cabbage into a clean jar and pack it down, so the juices cover it. Tight lid and sit for a few weeks before eating. Lovely healthy food!

Roasted cabbage is delicious. Cut into round slices, brush with olive oil, season with salt and pepper and then roast on high heat in the oven until tender and crisp on the edges.

Just made garlic lemon and bacon cabbage had a rogue rasher.

Never ever tried sauerkraut Walnuts I like the sound of it but it looks wrong, like piccalilly I like the components but if it looks wrong.....

Melt butter, fry either caraway or cumin seeds for a moment, maybe add finely sliced onions, then finely sliced cabbage + s&p.
Simmer gently, might need a little water.

What about stuffed cabbage rolls? It's sauted mince and spices and rice, rolled with cabbage leaves and stewed in a tomato sauce. They're lovely and were a childhood staple growing up in America.
