When do I have to cook my defrosted salmon steaks by??

I took them out of the freezer and put them straight in to the fridge yesterday morning. No idea when they actually defrosted. I forgot DH is not around for dinner tonight - will they still be ok for tomorrow night - ie 36 hours later?

should be ok as they will have defrosted slowly and been in the cold the whole time.
