It was ages ago and I searched and couldn't find the recipe. (it didn't have any cornflour)

ok anyone with a great shortbread recipe- I like the aforementioned one because you could substitute ginger etc and it was still delicious

Quick question for Pruni - I just went and made this! It's very tasty but I made people shapes and they rose beyond all recognition! Was I supposed to use SR flour? (I did), they are yummy though, like the biscuit part of bourbons but lighter! yum

we made these yesterday - gorgeous

legoleia - maybe roll them out a bit thinner? Ours didn't rise much but they did spread quite a bit

LegoLeia · 05/09/2007 09:56

Good thinking Tommy, they were a bit chunky! How thick would you recommend?!

Tommy · 05/09/2007 13:30

really thin! about half a centimetre I would guess

Cheers soup and thanks obv to pruni. I have been using the standard recipe of shortbread but these are so much nicer.
My internet connection went down on tuesday so I couldn't check back!

Was just gonna make these but forgot to warm my butter up ahh. Noticing it uses a whole slab of butter little worriedd at how many it makes? should I half quantity or not? Will they freeze if I have any left lol. Sounds doubtful by the threads

You can usually freeze uncooked dough. Fab for getting out and baking at short notice and thus looking like a domestic goddess.

bril thanks

Made these yesterday with dd. Lovely, really crumbly just like shortbread. I was tempted to sprinkle some caster sugar on aswell like shortbread . The recipe is firmly written in the front of my cakes and biscuits book for future reference!
