Kefir

Anyone like kefir?

I just used the dregs of a couple of bottles of cherry kefir from Tesco to make more! I added milk (skimmed, but use any), then left it out of the fridge for a couple of days. My kitchen is not heated overnight.

Then I whizzed up a couple of soft fruits (150g per 500g kefir) and very briefly whizzed in the kefir. It was 240 calories for 500g.

Sounds good.

I buy the biotiful one which I'd quite pricey. And some kefir yoghurts.

I'd be scared of giving myself good poisoning somehow making my own.

I have kefir grains but find I can't make it as good as the stuff I buy from the local Polish shop. I only ever buy plain kefir, haven't tried fruit ones, yours sounds lovely.

I love it and get the Yeo Valley one from Waitrose or the Co-op.

Haven't time to make my own but know people who do - tbh it's not as nice as the fruity ones I buy.

The plain possibly isn't as nice but it is if you add fruit purée.

I think you're ok as far as food poisoning is concerned as the bacteria is the kefir one. I read on here previously that yogurt left out is the same. Anyway, I didn't die! Smile
