Stew I’m making should be in at 180 for 1.5 hours but OH won’t be home for 2 hours.

Will it be ok in at that temp for 2 hours? Thanks, I don’t normally make stew!!

it will be fine, but if you're worried just turn the heat off after 1.5 hrs and leave it in the oven to stay warm.

2 hours will be fine. I wouldn’t have thought an hour/half would be long enough for stew anyway

It'll be fine, just check it to make sure it has enough liquid at the end of the cooking time given and maybe turn the oven down if you are worried. Most slow cooked things are better when left longer.

Thanks all! Panic over :)

Yes it'll be fine, if anything it may be better as will have more chance to reduce the 'sauce' and tenderise the meat. I often add an hour or two to recipe timings for this reason, stews are nearly always quite forgiving and can sit in the oven for ages past their 'proper' time IMO. Just keep an eye, turn the temp down if it's looking over brown or add some water if dry!

The longer the better with a stew. Turn it down after an hour and a half.
