What could I substitute for chickpeas in this recipe?

Dh and I don't like them but I like the sound of the rest of this...

Chicken, chickpea & lemon casserole

Ingredients

175g new potatoes, halved
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 slices lemon, chopped
2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground cinnamon
450ml chicken stock
2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts cut into cubes
half a 410g can of chickpeas

I'd jsut make it without them, it hs plenty of other stuff in it. Maybe jsut increase the chicken and pots in substitution.

that's hardly any chickpeas! You could just leave them out and you probably wouldn't notice

true, half a can's not a lot. mind you, i love a pulse so i'd maybe stick some flat green lentils or puy lentils in as well.

Right, thanks everyone, will run your options past dh. Am ashamed to say I don't know what all of them are we are not great bean/pulse eaters in this house. Maybe it's about time we gave them a go!
