Help - dairy/soy free cake/sweet treats for party

DameBaggySmith · 23/01/2020 21:28

I have a dairy and soy free guest at my sons birthday party on Saturday and I'm struggling to think of an easy to make alternative to cake for the party bag. Any ideas please?

I am catering and making the party cake tomorrow so ideally something that can be bought or baked easily.

Thanks

Jam tarts, make the shortcrust pastry with Vegetable Trex or something similar.

I add these vegan cup cakes, honestly they were just like any other sponge cake www.noracooks.com/funfetti-vegan-cupcakes/ vegan brownies are pretty easy too, look on Pinterest

Make a fat free whipped sponge, fill with jam or non dairy cream substitute.

This cake vegan and no soy. It’s also ridiculously easy to make.

There are loads of 'free from' you can buy now if that's what you want. Some 'normal' stuff is dairy-free too but I'm not so sure about soya as my some can have some of that - party rings, pink wafers, cream crackers, lots of crisps.

Are they intolerant or allergic - intolerant is a lot easier. If they are actually allergic ask their parents for advice.

Cakes can be made with Vitalite or Pura margarine. I prefer Pure, it's good for butter icing too.

Dairy-free chocolate is in lots of shops - we used it for crispy cakes with no complaints.

The base of this cake could work www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/chocolate-orange-hazelnut-cake
Or try these brownies www.sweetestmenu.com/olive-oil-brownies/

I bake using margarine and rice milk It’s easy enough.

Dairy free cake is so easy and hard to tell the difference. Just use almond/rice/oat milk, and margarine.

Chocolate dipped berries

Toce pudding with rice milk also cooks well.

Rice pudding.

How easy would rice pudding be to pack into the party bags though?
