I slice carrots and onions into strips and put them underneath the beef with a small cup of water, then loads of salt and black pepper. Cook on high for about 5-6 hours until beef is all shreddy.

Remove beef and use a slotted spoon to remove veg, then I thicken the juice left with cornflower and add a beef stock cube. Add the veg back, shred the beef and add that back. If it's adults I wang some horseradish sauce in the gravy as well. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes, Yorkshire puds and your choice of veg. I like savoy and broccoli with beef plus you have the carrots and onions in the gravy.

I just add 2 beef jelly stock cubes a a little water.
Leave it on low for around 10 hours and it is always really lovely and, juicy and tender.

Add red wine and beef stock (dont need loads), diced carrots and onions and celery if I have it, and a bay leaf plus salt and pepper then just let it get on with it. Then I cook separate veg, mash or roast potatoes and use the leftover stock from cooking to make gravy. Yum.
