Any ideas what I could do with leftover smoked salmon? I mean, eat it obviously, but something for a hot meal preferably

Scrambled eggs or omelette with a nice salad?

TooMinty · 27/12/2019 18:44

Oh, I was just going to say eat it on brown bread with thick butter!

But maybe make a quiche? With broccoli or asparagus if you have any. Or just mix with pasta, lemon juice and crepe fraiche.

CaptainMyCaptain · 27/12/2019 18:48

I'm just using up mine - pasta with Philadephia, sweet corn, broccoli and smoked salmon.

Blibbyblobby · 27/12/2019 18:49

Something like this:

Or if you are me and lazy, just pasta, philadelphia, smoked salmon, salt and pepper

This pasta is lovely

Blibbyblobby · 27/12/2019 18:49

ooo snap!

DoctorNicoleWatterson · 27/12/2019 18:49

Chop up small and mix with tagliatelle, fresh herbs, parmasan and creme fraiche.

Ambrose2 · 27/12/2019 18:52

Ooh a creamy pasta sounds perfect. I don't have any creamy base though just milk, cheddar, and a Boursin. Might have to shop again. Do have asparagus but no eggs left which are my go to with smoked salmon normally

In a sandwich with cream cheese or in a quiche.

recreationalcalpol · 27/12/2019 18:54

Homemade quiche. Sooo good

BeyondMyWits · 27/12/2019 18:55

Hot cooked pasta and steamed asparagus, stir the boursin through it, chop in the smoked salmon, add generous amount of freshly ground black pepper.

Can I come round?

DariaMorgendorffer · 27/12/2019 18:55

Make a gratin with layers of sliced potato & smoked salmon, some cream & the cheddar grated on top.

Ambrose2 · 27/12/2019 18:56

@BeyondMyWits

That actually sounds so good I may have to do exactly that

OP posts:
CaptainMyCaptain · 27/12/2019 18:56

The Boursin would melt nicely into the pasta.

DrDiva · 27/12/2019 18:57

Your milk and Boursin is a perfect base for pasta and smoked salmon!

claptomania · 27/12/2019 18:58

@DariaMorgendorffer literally just had that for dinner! SS baked with potatoes, cream, thyme and caramelised onions

Ambrose2 · 27/12/2019 19:00

It's rare there's any Boursin left to cook with usually it gets eaten the evening I buy it on crackers between me and my middle child. They were a £1 in Tesco a couple of weeks ago so I bought a few!

lilgreen · 27/12/2019 19:01

Whisk your Boursin into a bit of milk over heat.

DariaMorgendorffer · 27/12/2019 19:04

@claptomania So delicious!

EwwSprouts · 27/12/2019 19:05

Or put a splosh of white wine in the pain before the Boursin (then no need for milk/cream).

Ihavethefinalsleigh · 27/12/2019 19:06

Smoked salmon quiche is lovely.

EwwSprouts · 27/12/2019 19:06

Or freeze the smoked salmon. It comes out fine.

TheSandgroper · 27/12/2019 19:11

Kedgeree.

kateandme · 27/12/2019 23:17

mac and cheese sauce with all you mentioned aboved.butter in a pan with some flour or c.flour.add your milk to thicken.add your cheese.into your pasta bake with the salmon.mmmm

Ambrose2 · 29/12/2019 19:14

Just went to make fabulous creamy pasta and discovered the smoked salmon was out of date. Devastated. Why didn't I put it into the freezer? I might have to go buy some more and make a pasta and a quiche. Kicking myself.
