Top rump of beef recipe ideas

We have family coming over on Christmas Eve for lunch & I was going to do honey roast ham, macaroni cheese & salad. Nice & easy & relatively cheap.
A friend has accidentally over ordered meat & has offered me a 2.5kg top rump of beef.
I don’t really cook/eat red meat so I’m not sure how to cook it or if it would go with the side dishes I’ve planned. DH seem so to think we could make it into a BBQ beef brisket type thing but I’m not so sure!
Any tips or ideas would be most welcome! Thanks.

Goulash with mash or crusty bread
Stroganoff with rice

Anything slow cooked will be fine - so yes BBQ brisket would work if you want to keep it as a whole joint (and would go nicely with your planned mac and cheese), or any beef stew (beef carbonade, beef bourbignon, beef massaman curry or even chilli con carne - use the beef rump in place of mince but cook much longer and slower before adding the beans). Any recipe which calls for stewing beef will do - as I say just go for low and slow cooking and it should soften up, if you try and cook too quickly it will be tough. If doing it as a stew ideally cook the day before and then reheat the next day to let the flavours mature...
