Alternative to beetroot dip

I love beetroot dip. I make is by blending up beetroot and adding creme fraiche. Unfortunately, my family don't like the smell of beetroot so beetroot is out.

Are there any other alternative dips to make that's easy. Garlic is also out.

Broad bean/pea and mint and feta/cream cheese?

Roasted carrot and cumin
Roasted red pepper
Smoked salmon or mackerel

Roasted butternut squash, Parmesan & cashew (or roasted almond) & chili
Smoked salmon, crème fraiche, capers & dill
World’s easiest one is cream cheese with sweet chili sauce poured over the top (strangely addictive!)
Green chili, black beans, cumin, ground coriander, smoked paprika, avocado (blended together) then mix in some fresh finely chopped coriander and some sweet corn (drained from a can) that you have charred a bit in a frying pan (in a little butter or oil). Put a blob of sour cream on top and a dash of Tabasco if you like it. Fabulous Mexican dip.

(Oops - forgot to say generous squeeze of lime or lemon juice and salt and pepper to the mex dip. The juice keeps the Avo from going brown too quickly, but it also helps if you smother it with clingwrap so no oxygen can get to it.)

This is delicious www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/vegroot-vegetable-pâté-butternut-200g They are also selling an aubergine version which I haven’t tried yet.

Is this stuff safe to eat during pregnancy do you know? The NHS say we shouldn't have pate (incl veggie pate), but does that include VegRoot stuff? I love it on toast but not sure whether its ok now...

The people you're cooking for sound fussy if they dont like beetroot OR garlic. I mean, beetroot is not a strong flavour and garlic is very common...so just a boring creme fraiche and chives, maybe some grated cheese in it.

Beetroot is fabulous. Get a new family. Grin

@Mysteries I was about to say that. They don't like beetroot OR garlic? I'd be out of there.

Avocado & cream cheese
Avocado & tomatoes
Roasted aubergine purée
Any beans such as haricots verts, butter beans, broad beans, add some spices to compensate for no garlic.
Black or green olives with anchovies.
Any mix of cooked Mediterranean vegetables, eg caponata.
