Are these safe to eat?

I was rooting around in my chest freezer today, making room for a grocery delivery that I've got coming tomorrow, and I found a packet of prawns that I bought just before last Christmas! They were frozen when I bought them,no fresh then frozen at home and went into the freezer pretty smartly after purchase. Are they still safe to eat?

I would say they will still be safe but quality may have deteriorated. Is there a best before date on them?

Safe - texture might be a bit altered

Should be fine, probably best cooked in a sauce for pasta etc though, as the texture might be a bit on the odd side for just thawing them to eat in a prawn cocktail or sandwich or whatever.

They'll be fine, defrost them and try one to see what you want to do with them.

Absolutely fine

CabbageAndCornflakes · 13/12/2019 18:14

Oh,didn't think of looking for a date on them!

CabbageAndCornflakes · 13/12/2019 18:14

No,no date on them.

If they have sat frozen all this time, they will be fine, maybe not the best texture, but safe!
