I'm here, my dh posted the OP. I told him he'd have to make it a sexy title or no-one would reply.

His point is that we appear to have a surplus of tomatoes and chillies and he wants to make them into a hot sauce, like Tabasco, or maybe a spicy chutney, if anyone has any recipes?

I do apologise for his crassness, he is but a mere farmer's boy.

Thanks lapin. I think he wants to just chuck together vinegar, sugar, tomatoes and shit and make the ultimate chilli sauce, he's looking for no effort basically.

And he says Mumsnet is shit. Cheeky bastard!

I made this tomato and chilli "jam" at the weekend. It's dead easy, but it didn't set very well. I posted on here, asking how to make it set, but no-one answered? It's from thins month's Waitrose magazine.

6 red chillies
Bit of ginger
6 garlic cloves.

Blend all them.

Add to a pan with 2kg tomatoes, 200g brown sugar, 100ml vinegar and some fish sauce.

Cook for an hour or so in a pan, then bottle and enjoy!
