The Dairy Book of Home Cookery - which edition?

I have seen this book mentioned so many times on this board that I am going to add it to my (already too big) collection of cook books. However, there seem to be a number of editions and many people mention having an old edition passed on by a mother/grandmother. Can anyone tell me which edition(s) is the best to buy (happy to get a second hand one although I see the 1970s editions are pretty pricey if it is in decent condition)? Reviews of the latest edition on Amazon seem to say that it is not a patch on older editions.

Get an old one from eBay for under a tenner.
Put the new one on you Xmas/birthday list.

Thanks mummy2017 I'm happy to get one on eBay and, if necessary pay more than a tenner, however which edition to get?? There seem to be various editions: 1968 (white with a four pictures on the cover), 1978 (white with one picture on bottom 2/3 of cover), 1997 (yellow cover), 2011 and then the latest one (with mediocre reviews) - which to go for?

Get the yellow coverer one, it will have things your Nan made.
But ask for the new one also as it has microwave use. People live it when you ask for a gift, they can find....lol

1978 is the one I've got.

My mum has the Dairy Book of Family Cookery - I think it's from the '80s. I have fond memories of that book.

This is the one my Mum has, I picked one up at a jumble sale for 20p.
