Best baking books

I've set myself a challenge to cook/bake an entire recipe book for 2020. Too many books we've bought that we will do one or two recipes and not bother with the others.

Baking seems like the most sensible option and we've got plenty of people we can give baking away to that will gladly accept it. I was looking at Mary Berry's Baking Bible (don't currently have any of her books) but just wondered if there were any baking and/or cook books you really rate?

I have stand mixer and all the various kit so happy to tackle trickier things if the book has them.

No recommendations, but I love this idea! I have way too many unused cookbooks, so I might just do the same.

The baking book I return to again and again is Nigella’s domestic goddess.

James Morton. His bread book is amazing, and the cake one is almost as good - you learn so much as you bake! And he is very pleasant to look at in a leather elbow patches sort of way.

Rachel Allen's 'Bake' might be good for this. I've made a few things from it which all turned out well and it's got quite a varied selection, including a savoury if I'm remembering correctly, so would be good if you don't want to be eating lots of the same sort of thing over and over

Nigellas How To Be A Domestic Goddess is a real classic, I've cooked so many recipes from it and they've all been great.

Ooh some good recommendations and some I've already been looking at. @TaleOfTheContinents we should have an accountability thread whether we post what we've made.

"Delia's Cakes" from the patron saint of baking.

Short and Sweet by Dan Lepard. A brilliant book, although quite long!

I can only see Def Leppard..... I wonder what their cakes would be like.
But Short and Sweet is indeed a fab book.

Another vote for nigella domestic goddess. It's the most well thumbed sticky cook book I own and I own a fair few the brownies in there are divine
