I don't have any sr flour either but i do have a 'never fail sponge cake' recipe that i have used twice now.
I do have cadbury's drinking chocolate though.
Will that not do???
Never have understood why it has to be cocoa powder.
Going to top them and put butter cream in them. (possibly chocoaltey too)
Or if anyone is driving past my house would they like to get some and drop it off to me???

Think drinking choc usually has powdered milk in it, so won't make for a 'chocolatey' cake, cocoa is so much more concentrated, you need less volume to get the flavour.

You could make the sponge and use the drinking choc to dust the top? Or do you have any real choc in - make a nice chocolatey fudgey icing?

Am now as am cutting back on goodies, and want cake NOW!

I have a flake bar but that's going to decorate half the top of my trifle. The other half is gonna have sprinkles on it.

Shop is only down the road but that means getting dressed. And it's sunday.
It's illegal in my book.
(and it's a corner shop, stuff is pricey there and they may not have any cocoa powder)

use gravy granules instead

Maybe substitute some of the sugar with drinking chocolate. Is it for kids? They won't care - just say they are special kind of cookies
