Pressure cooker recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good pressure cooker? I’d prefer a multi function one as we also don’t have a slow cooker.

I love my instant pot. Worth waiting for Black Friday offers on amazon for one.

Instant pot is great. I made chicken curry today, and later the rice. Some cooks have two!

Instant Pot without a doubt.

Love our instant pot, use it for pressure cooking and slow cooking. Occasionally use it as a rice cooker too.

Wait for the black Friday sale on Amazon, but a slow cooker lid too.

Agree instant pot, it’s amazing. We made stew in it last night and added dumplings for the the last 20 mins with the slow cooker lid

I've got a crockpot slow cooker which doubles as a pressure cooker. I haven't used as a pressure cooker but it is brilliant as a slow cooker. Can defer starting to cook for 4 hours and then it cooks and switches to warm. Food doesn't stick

Can anybody provide a link to the instant pot?

Here is mine instant pot. I use it everyday. It's replaced my slow cooker and rice cooker.

Instant pot

I'd second getting an instant pot on black Friday. If you search on camelcamelcamel you can see how the price gets reduced fairly consistently! Slow cooker function gets criticised by people who are using it on too low a setting and in practice most people use pressure cook and keep warm function which IME gets better results than my old slow cooker.

What size do people have? We are a family of two adults and two young children, would the 3lr be too small?

I have the 6l (2 adults plus a 5yo) and it's a good size, allowing some batch cooking etc. It's worth knowing that you only fill it half to two thirds full to allow enough room for the steam that gives you the pressure. I think I'd find the 3l too small.

I've got an instant pot but I've kept hold of my slow cooker as it comes in handy when feeding a crowd. I'll often cook a big batch of something in the IP then transfer it to the slow cooker to keep warm and carry on cooking gently whilst I do a second dish in my IP. I don't think I'll ever stand stirring a risotto for 25 mins again!

I have two instant pots - the 6l and 8l. I use them all the time mostly for rice,Potatoes, stews. The 8l is great if you like batch cooking and want large quantities. The 6l is sufficient for a family of 4. I am considering buying the 3l because I often cook rice for one person and the cookers are big to have out all the time but overall the 6 is fine and the one I use all the time. They are huge machines so measure up before you buy one cos you might find it's much bigger than you thought it would be. I like having two for when I entertain - stew or whatever in one, rice or something else in the other. I never slow cook any more. Being disorganized the pressure cooker saves me a lot.
