Pumpkin - how long will it keep?

I've never cooked pumpkin, but bought one for 10p @ Sainsbo.
So, no big deal if it goes off.
Freezers are full, so don't want to make all the interesting recipes I've found, plus we're off on a short holiday this week.

It's in a cold, dark shed. Any idea how long it can stay there? And do I have to use it all at once, or will it deteriorate once cut?
Thanks everyone.

Once cut it would really need to be used all at once. I've stored home grown pumpkins for months but no idea how old already a store bought pumpkin is likely to be.

The ones in supermarkets don’t tend to taste nice imo. They are bred for carving not taste.

I bought a small, fancy one last October for decoration, kept it on display till Christmas and I'm now using it again this year Grin
