A relative is coming to stay and can't eat onion.

Everything starts with an onion!

What meals can I cook without onion??

Thanks

Just do the same recipes without onions!

Unless it's eg. onion soup Grin

Pastas, curries, stews etc all work without onion

MyDcAreMarvel · 03/11/2019 11:13

How bizarre, just don’t add onion it’s really that simple.

DartmoorChef · 03/11/2019 11:14

I make most things without onions.

dimdarkashian · 03/11/2019 11:16

Will it not taste totally different?

I hate onions (texture). I always just leave them out.

I do low FODMAP, so can’t eat onions. For the base of dishes like stews, curries, soups etc I usually use finely chopped carrots, red peppers or a mix of the two. Add body and a bit sweetness. Up to 75g per portion in a recipe.

You can use chives instead

TheSandgroper · 10/11/2019 07:58

Use leek. It works just fine.

Artesia · 10/11/2019 19:25

If onions are ruled out due to allergy rather than preference, leeks and chives are probably out too- they are all from the same family of foods

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 11/11/2019 06:25

Garlic is the same family too.
