Fish stock cube alternative

I used to make very good use of fish stock cubes but now cant seem to get them only more expensive stock pots. Any budget alternatives?

Fish sauce - nam pla ?
Can't remember the price, but a few drops go a long way.

veg stock and a few anchovies in the sauce?

Awesome. I just found the fish sauce online. That sounds really handy
I actually gave some achovys in the cupboards but havent had the courage to use them. Do you need to worry about skins and bones?

@VolcanionSteamArtillery if you chop them up they tend to melt into any sauce you make. I use them in puttanesca.

I shall be brave and give it a go somewhen!
