Christmas cake help please.

I am going to bake my Christmas cake soon. The recipe I use goes into an 8-inch round cake tin. But this year, I am thinking about making it in one or more loaf tins. That way I can give one away. Does anyone know how many loaf tins it would fit into, or at least how I can work it out? Also cooking times? Thanks in advance.

The simplest way is to stand the round cake tin in the sink and measure how much water it holds. Then do the same with your chosen loaf tins. There is a more exact formula, I'll try and find it

This should help

Thanks so much, @Windygate, the water thing didn't even occur to me! I shall look at the conversion chart and start soaking my fruit.
